On the heels of International Women’s Day, I feel it only makes sense to highlight some of the amazing women in my life.
My aunt Chris recently opened up a natural wellness centre and its feature on The Wolf & The Wardrobe is long overdue. I’ll be linking her website and Facebook page at the bottom of this post, but in the meantime, please bask in the glory – this place is one of a kind and is nestled right in Tillsonburg, Ontario!
Horizon Natural Health Centre is truly something extraordinary and is a space that was much needed for southwestern Ontario. Featuring two colon hydrotherapy rooms, an infared sauna, nutritional counselling, PEMF therapy, and a gorgeous salt cave boasting salt shipped in directly from the Himalayas, Horizon is a unique location to get your health on track. Whether you’re indulging in group yoga in the salt cave, or a reiki session with my aunt, you will leave feeling relaxed and on the road to your healthiest self.
Traditional colon hydrotherapy room.
The Angel of Water system is a gravity fed, open design colon hydrotherapy system and the first choice for hospitals and high-end clinics globally. This state-of-the-art system is Health Canada, CSA & FDA approved.
The Canadian-made, medical grade infrared sauna is handcrafted from the finest toxin-free materials. You can now receive benefits from the very same infrared sauna as used by NHL Hockey Teams, Canadian Armed Forces, Naturopathic Colleges and some Fire Stations.
Now, my favourite part of the centre…
Studies have shown the benefits of salt therapy can be seen in the following:
- Respiratory issues: allergies, asthma, bronchitis, COPD, cystic fibrosis, sinusitis
- Skin conditions: psoriasis, eczema, acne
- Improved immune, nervous and lymphatic systems
- Reduction of anxiety, stress and fatigue
- Increased and more restful sleep
Salt therapy can also help prevent respiratory viruses, including the common cold and flu. People who experience chronic or multiple colds throughout the year due to day cares, schools, or poor ventilation in the work environment can benefit greatly.
The salt cave can be used on an individual basis, or booked for a group – it can accommodate up to six people comfortably and is particularly great for yoga!
Be sure to visit Horizon Natural Health Centre online and on Facebook, and if you have a chance, stop by the Open House on March 20th between 10am and 8pm! There are many prizes and sessions to be won 🙂
