Kylie Cosmetics Review

As many of you know, Kylie Jenner has an incredibly successful cosmetics line, currently featuring a variety of matte liquid lipsticks, metallic liquid lipsticks, and lip glosses. Her venture into the beauty industry has been so successful, in fact, her products sell out within minutes leaving KJ fans and beauty gurus constantly waiting the next restock.

During her most recent restock, I was lucky enough to snag a metallic liquid lipstick (Heir) and a lip gloss (Literally). Heir is a beautiful, metallic rose gold, and literally is a very pretty nude (which, if you follow me on Instagram, you know I’m super into lately). I was a bit worried about the shipping, as I had heard/seen many people commenting about how they hadn’t received their products or even received a shipping notification. I was pleasantly surprised when my order arrived within a week and a half to Canada, so I have no complaints about that.

I could not wait to unbox my two newest lippies! Drum roll, please!

First Impressions

The packaging was beautiful and the products themselves smell so lovely!

I found the brushes on both the gloss and the metallic to be quite nice. The brush for the lip gloss is a bit messy, but dragging it along the sides of the tube as you pull the brush out solves that issue for the most part. The brush on the metallic liquid lipstick is pretty similar to Stila’s liquid lipstick brushes and the consistency of the lipstick itself is pretty similar as well. In terms of durability, the metallic lasted all day for me, which I was super impressed by. The metallic is a bit hard to capture on camera, but I did my best:

I love how different the metallic is compared to my other lip products, and I would absolutely by more.

I found Literally a bit more difficult to apply. It looked a bit streaky at first, but appeared to settle within a few minutes. The shade itself is so beautiful, and I love that the gloss doesn’t have a sticky residue. I did find myself having to re-apply, as the gloss turned more into a stain as the day went on (though didn’t completely rub off, so I was happy about that). I don’t know that I would purchase another gloss, but I would be very interested in trying one of her original mattes and more of her metallics.
