With my trip to Bali being mere hours away, it seemed like the perfect time to detail my experience of this cosmetic enhancement I got specifically for my trip. First of all, a huge thank you goes out to Marly at Obeah Beauty who made my first lash experience such a positive one! For anyone in Woodstock and the surrounding area, I highly recommend you visit Marly for all of your eyelash extensions, eyebrow microblading, hair, body treatments, and nail needs – she’s my go-to girl! Not only is she incredibly easy to talk to and has a wealth of knowledge and experience, she makes you feel welcome and at ease and walks you through everything she’s doing so you’re completely in the know of her process.
Okay, now, onto the lashes!
First, let’s start with a before picture of my lashes:
The process involves gluing mink or silk lashes to each of your individual natural lashes. The lashes shed with your natural lash cycle and can last up to 5 weeks, though Marly recommends getting them filled around the 3 week mark, depending on how they’re holding up. You can also choose from a variety of sizes and fills to make them look more glamorous or natural – I opted for the more natural look.
The whole process takes approximately 1.5-2 hours, depending on the number of lashes you have, and how awesome your technician is. Mine took 1.5 hours. The process is relaxing, you lay on a massage table as the technician works on your lashes. Marly applied an anti-aging mask to my under eyes to keep my bottom lashes out of the way, while also providing an awesome treatment! This was probably the hardest part of the experience for me, as my eyes felt dry, and as you will see in the later photos, looked a bit red. Thankfully my lashes were well worth that initial discomfort and the rest of the process was super enjoyable.
Now, to the ‘After’ photos!
Isn’t it incredible!?
Excuse my lipstick – this was an after work appointment and I rarely re-apply if I don’t have to!
Pretty incredible, huh? I would highly recommend lash extensions for anyone with dainty lashes or who want to frame their eyes for a special occasion. They are the window to the soul, after all! I love not having to wear mascara – having these lashes totally saves me time in the morning! I just give them a quick brush with my spoolie and off I go! Super easy to maintain.
